This website contains photos that I have taken during my main photographic years between 1973 and 2001. Included are photos of buses of London Transport, London Country, Green Line coaches and many operators around the UK, along with photos of some bus garages, trains and railway stations. As I didn't own a car until 2003, the vast majority of photographs were taken using public transport. All the photos on this website are saved as low resolution files to save on storage space and bandwidth. If any are required for publication, I can supply hi-res images.

So far I have scanned over 66,000 colour transparencies, and I am also adding photos recently inherited from the late Colin Taffel although this is a very slow process owing to the number of slides and the time taken to scan and clean them up. My thanks must go to Martin Ruthe for assisting in checking and correcting information of some of the other operators' photos where my memory has failed me, and also to Alexander Zalicks for maintaining this website.

I hope you will enjoy looking at some of the photos, not only for the buses but also for the street scenes, cars and lorries, buildings, shops, signs, fashions etc. You can use the search facility to find individual operators, registration numbers, fleetnumbers or locations, and if you click on any category, the ten most recent albums to have photos added will be shown at the top of the page. You may add comments to individual shots and thanks to those of you who have already done so, they're most interesting.

How do I scan my collection?
For those that are interested the scanner that I am using is the Epson Perfection V550, along with Epsonscan software which gives considerably better and sharper results than the VueScan software I originally used. I am using Photoshop to 'clean up' the images.
